WELCOME TO A WORLD OF SCRIPTS!!
One of the tasks set by the 14th ASSITEJ General Assembly in Seoul,
2002, for the new Executive Committee was to establish ways of
facilitating the exchange of scripts between our members. With so
many dramatists writing so many fantastic scripts for our young
audiences, this is a big task! I am very proud to have been asked to
chair the EC Script Working Party formed to undertake the work.

We spent many hours discussing how best to do this. With so many
plays in so many languages it would be impossible to include whole
scripts, or translate them or include information about every
script; we considered the rights and integrity of the authors and
ways of adapting plays to suit different cultures; and we discussed
what information is necessary and ways of providing an objective
view of the scripts. The first result of our work is this
webcatalogue. |
We hope that all ASSITEJ centres will send new information so that
the webcatalogue can reflect the richness and diversity of our work
worldwide. If your country is not yet included, information should
be submitted through the ASSITEJ International Representative in
each country.

If more information is needed about the webcatalogue please contact
me or the General Secretary. But if you need more information about
particular scripts please contact the authors or their agents.
This is a resource for all our members in all our centres. Please
use it, please contribute to it and please enjoy finding new scripts
from new colleagues and friends!
