ASSITEJ International Project
ASSITEJ is a world network of theatre for children and young people
established in 1965 by a global alliance of theatre for , by, and with
children and yooung people linking thousands of individuals, theatres ,
and organizations through national centres in more than 75 countries on
all 6 continents.
“ASSITEJ International Project” is a designation with the purpose of
promoting theatre for children and young people worldwide through the
recognition of significant international seminars, symposiums and
meetings for professional theatre practitioners
To qualify as an ”ASSITEJ International Project” a
project must:
- Be a seminar, symposium, or workshop about the fiels of theatre for
children and young people – artistery, criticism, education
- Include participants from at least 5 different countries.
- Be at least 2 days long
- Be open and inclusive in its registration and selection process
- Provide professional treatment and adequate facilities for artists
and guests.
- Put the “ASSITEJ International Project” logo and information on the
project’s information material.
- Provide organized information in both English and a common language
- Provide ASSITEJ with promotional material and press clippings for
the archives
- Create opportunities for participants to meet and exchange ideas.
- Apply for this designation at least six months prior to the start of
the project
If a Project meets these qualifications, ASSITEJ would:
- Notify the project within three months if it met the qualifications
- List the project on its web site
- Include the project and its designations in the ASSITEJ Newsletter
