Dear ASSITEJ centres,

Our 16th World Congress and Performing Arts Festival for Young People will take place in Adelaide, Australia, from the 9th to the 18th of May 2007.

The General Assembly will take place from May 12th to 16th.

May I remind you of a few important points:

1. Membership fees
Subscriptions are due on January 1st each year and are compulsory for
membership. A centre loses right to vote at the General Assembly if it is more
than 6 months arrears with the subscription payment (cf Constitution, Art 7, 3).
If you have any questions regarding your membership fee, please contact Klaus Eggert, Treasurer, e-mail: <eggert@riorose.dk>.

2. Attending the General Assembly
Please let the General Secretariat know whether your centre intends to take part
in the General Assembly or to delegate another centre to represent you
(cf Art 9, 3).

Each centre can be represented by 1 - 3 official delegates with the right to
speak and vote at the Assembly. The names of your official delegates must be
sent to the General Secretariat on the enclosed form (violet).

Please reply no later than February 9th 2008.

If you wish to delegate another centre to represent you by proxy, the enclosed form
(beige) must be forwarded to the Centre in question and a copy must be sent to
the General Secretariat.

A Centre can have as many observers at the General Assembly as they wish, but only the official delegates can speak and vote.

3. Elections
If your Centre applies for the Executive Committee, notice of this must be
received by the General Secretariat at least 3 months before the General
Assembly (no later than February 9th 2008).

Along with the name of your candidate you are kindly requested to send a brief
presentation of her/him. Please use the enclosed form (yellow). Present members of the EC may stand for reelection.

The above mentioned is also valid for the elections of Treasurer (green), Secretary General (grey) and the 17th World Congress and General Assembly in 2011 (blue).

All forms are available on the ASSITEJ International web-site www.assitej.org in word-format.

4. Agenda
If your centre wants to put an issue on the agenda of the General Assembly the
General Secretariat must be informed at least three months before the General Assembly (no later than February 9th 2008).

Please use the enclosed form (white).

5. Travel costs, accomodation and registration fee
The Congress, ASSITEJ Australia and ASSITEJ International will assist a limited number of official delegates who find it a hardship to pay travel costs, accomodation and the registration fee for the World Congress.

A number of homestays (private accomodation) will also be available.

National centres may apply for assistance by writing to the Secretary General
no later than December 15th, 2007.

6. Honorary President´s Award – the ASSITEJ Award for Artistic Excellence
The General Secretariat has received ten applications for the Award: Sara Topsøe-Jensen (Denmark), Dance Theatre Hurjaruuth (Finland), Lutz Hübner (Germany), Theater company ”Baran” (Iran), Teatro Testoni Ragazzi ”La Baracca” (Italy) and Aleksey Borodin (Russia), Theater company ”La Casa Incierta” (Spain), Jonna Nordenskiöld (Sweden), Tony Reekie (United Kingdom), Barry Kornhauser (USA).
